Sourcing in Round Top Texas
Every year I look forward to the antique show in Round Top, Texas, about two and a half hours from Fredericksburg and about an hour from Houston. The show has grown over the years; I probably started going about 12 years ago and now make it an annual event.
Even though the venues have expanded over the years, there are still some favorites that I never pass up. If you are on the hunt for quality European antiques, farmhouse finds, vintage clothing, or just unique objects, this is the place.
Some of the items that are always on my personal list are french linen dresses and textiles… I just don’t think I ever get enough! And over the years as I have been designing homes either for myself or others, I always keep in mind what might need to be purchased specifically from the Round Top show to bring life, uniqueness, and character to a home. I usually pack my whole SUV a couple of times over with antiques like dressers, vintage turkish pots, french mirrors, and rugs. I fill the small spaces in the car with art, objects, textiles, and even plants!
When building and sourcing for the WI Lakehouse I picked up a couple of vintage apple orchard ladders that seemed appropriate for the area given that the backside of the house has several apple trees.
